Stratherrick & Foyers Community website

Welcome to the new website for Stratherrick and Foyers.

We hope that this site will be very useful to all groups, individuals and businesses in the area wishing to become more proactive within the community and that this website be used to improve communications between all in the area.

As well as information about events in the Strath, this site aims to describle the many aspects and facilities available. It will be as successful as the community makes it. We need to hear from you. Send us details about your group and your activities. Tell us what you think is good in the area and what you would recommend be that a concert or a walk, some local heritage or a fund raising event. If you have a good photograph of the district as it is now or as it used to be, then send it to us.

Alan Lawson described Stratherrick thus: "it embraces the catchments of the Fechlin and Farigaig rivers, from the watershed of the high Monadhliaths to Loch Ness, from the ridge of Suidhe Chuimein above Loch Tarff to Loch Ruthven and Loch Ceo-glais in the north but extending there to take in the old Fraser lands of Erchite." It therefore includes the villages of Gorthleck, Whitebridge. Foyers, Inverfarigaig, Errogie and Torness as well as smaller settlements such as Knockie, Trinloist and Aberchalder.
